Once a month we host the SA chapter of mental health swim at Kings Beach, GQ.
Duration: 2 Hrs
Dips not distance, community not competition!
At Mental Health Swims, we believe in the power of water and community to bring people together and uplift spirits. We welcome everyone – regardless of body shape, age, skin colour, sexuality, gender, language, background, or ability – to celebrate the healing joy of swimming.
Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or dipping your toes for the first time, we’re here to support and encourage you. Our easy-going group focuses on short dips and companionship, rather than competitive swimming. So come along for a chat, paddle, or swim – the choice is yours!
No matter what your swimwear preferences may be, all shapes, sizes, and styles are embraced and celebrated. Whether you rock a wetsuit, swimming cossie, leggings and a t-shirt, or even a mankini, you’ll be welcomed with open arms!
Remember to bring essentials like a towel, a warm drink, a snack, and warm clothes to change back into. Some find a hot water bottle or a changing robe useful, so feel free to bring those along too.
Where to Meet
We’ll be gathering at Wayne Pheiffer Cycles, in their parking lot behind McDonald’s, where we’ll meet before walking down together to the water. Look out for a bunch of excited, friendly faces, and our huge pink pirate flag for easy recognition – we can’t wait to welcome you!
If you have any questions or specific access needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our central team at hello@mentalhealthswims.co.uk.
Location: Wayne Pheiffer parking lot, La Roche Dr, Humewood, Gqeberha, 6013, South Africa
